Who I Am

I am a recent gradute from Towson University's Electronic Media and Film program with 2 years experience as a student filmmaker and 2 years experience working with nonprofits in public access media. I am currently based out of Westminster, MD.

Sound design, dialogue editing, non-linear video editing are my specialties; however, I also have experience working as a writer, videographer, technical director, and film director. My goal is to expand my skills further in stop-motion, 2D animation, novel/script writing, and graphic design.

I have been trained in various computer programs to meet a variety of client needs, including: Adobe Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop, Audition, MS and Google Suite, Garageband, Reaper, ProTools, RX Advanced Audio Suite, Krita, Procreate, Canva, JVC Connected Camera Studio, and Ross Xpression.

I am also knowledgeable in the use and handling of the following equipment: audio boards; dynamic, condenser, and lavalier microphones; field recorders and portable mixers; DSLR, PTZ, sports, and studio cameras; tripods; XLR, SDI, cat-6, fiber-optic, and power cables; LED and tungsten lights, Blackmagic Atem Mini, Magewell Director Mini, Magewell encoders/decoders, Teradek encoders, Pepwave network routers, and Netgear network switches.

As a useful hobby, I've also gained skills in both bidirectional and unilateral A/V transfers (VHS, VHS-C, audio cassettes, CD, DVD, and digital files), and I am slowly learning how to repair and modify small electronics.

Objectives and Inspiration

My aim is to give stories and the people who share them the space and resources they need to take root and thrive. I believe that the stories we tell can prompt people to think in new and innovative ways previously unconsidered -to see the old as new again and tether unorthodox approaches, a sense of understanding, awareness, and compassion to the familiar needs and anxieties of the modern world. Mental health is often vastly overlooked, simplified, misunderstood and -at worst- stereotyped in media and the broader world. This said, I often seek themes in my work revolving around mental health and the human psyche, the complexities of interpersonal relationships, and environmentalism  -all explored primarily through the genres and styles of documentary, narrative, formalism, surrealism, horror, sci-fi, and drama. Some of my favorite writers and directors whom I admire for their stories as much as their styles include Rod Serling, Stanley Kubrick, Wes Anderson, and Tim Burton.

Currently, I am writing a series pilot about a stranded pilot (very punny), her new unwilling friend, and their struggle against not only the elements of a harsh Alaskan frontier but the demons inside themselves. Together they must unearth lost memories, open up old wounds, and forge new bonds lest the frozen tundra consume them and their past come back to haunt them. It is an exploratory and partially educational piece delving into the topics of severe mental illness, abuse and trauma, spiritualism, the lack of support for mental health in rural areas, and the consequences of this deficit.

My inspiration derives from family, the lived experiences of those suffering from mental illness, the advice of medical professionals on the matters of mental health, as well as various films including: Joe Lo Truglio's Outpost, Silver Linings Playbook, What's Eating Gilbert Grape?, and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.
